§ 46-82. Definitions.

  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this division, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Custodian means any person over the age of 18 who is in loco parentis to a juvenile.

    Guardian means any person, other than a parent, who has legal guardianship or custody of a minor.

    Minor means any person under the age of 18 whose disabilities of non-age have not been removed.

    Parent means the natural or adoptive parent of a minor.

    Public place means any street, alley, highway, sidewalk, park, playground or place to which the general public has access and a right to resort for business, entertainment or other lawful purpose. A public place shall include but not be limited to any store, shop, restaurant, tavern, bowling alley, cafe, theater, drugstore, pool room or shopping center and any other place devoted to the amusement or entertainment of the general public. It shall also include the front or immediate area of the places mentioned in this definition.
